Ruk Digest 4/3

Hello Fellow Rukkers!

1. Feeling Tired Midday At Work? Here Are Some Things To Boost Your Energy

From chewing gum to playing with your ears, this article has some interesting ideas.

2. Amazon Echo

It's been a while since Amazon came out with something innovative.

Some things you can do with the voice commands here:

- Dim your lights
- Play your favorite Spotify playlists
- Find a Chinese restaurant nearby

And my favorite:

"Alexa, re-order paper towels" (Alexa is the devices name)

It should in theory re-order the towels on your Amazon account.

Does anyone wanna be like SUPER awesome and buy me one???

3. Insane Suit Lets You Experience What Its Like To Be Old

I love this idea. I think everyone should try this suit to get a better perspective on aging and the elderly.

DC Upcoming Event

DC Bike Party: Cherry Blossom Edition!!

Cherry Blossoms may be done, but the party's still go on.

How does this work??
Simple.

Party while riding your bike on the streets of DC, joined by hundreds of other cyclists.

I did this two years ago and it was AMAZING. Here is my short video. (quality is bad because it's not so easy riding a bike while holding a phone and taking a video)

April 8th @ 7:30 pm.

Book of the Week

Predictably Irrational

"Dan Ariely refutes the common assumption that we behave in fundamentally rational ways. From drinking coffee to losing weight, from buying a car to choosing a romantic partner, we consistently overpay, underestimate, and procrastinate. Yet these misguided behaviors are neither random nor senseless. They're systematic and predictable—making us predictably irrational."

Thought of the Week

We frequently walk with the sole purpose of getting from one place to another.

When we first learned to walk, we walked just to enjoy walking.

We walked and discovered each moment as we encountered it.

We can learn to walk that way again.
