Ruk Digest 8/14

Hello Fellow Rukkers!

1. The Historic Reversal Is Coming And It's Not Good

It is predicted that by 2030 more than 50 countries will have more people over the age of 65 than children under 15.

Former UN Demographer Joseph Chamie claims that we will go from a "Toys ‘R’ Us society to an Olds ‘R’ Us one."

Uuuuh how will pensions be paid then??

2.  The Evolution Of Michael Phelps

An interesting 15 minute documentary by ESPN that reveals a lot about Phelps, including his troubling period several years ago where he thought about ending his life and wound up checking into rehab.

3.  Are Micro Hotels Going To Become The Next Big Thing?

Developers Oleg Pavlov and Seth Schumer built two buildings in NYC where rooms are no more than 165 square feet.

Ayayay that's small.

They are betting that by cramming more rooms into a hotel they can maximize profits in a struggling industry.

In 2000, it was 760 million and in 1990 it was 650 million.
